It is a rare but exciting challenge for a design studio to face; how to make the inside of a property just as breath-taking as its surroundings. A quandary answered perfectly by Lakeview House, the latest project from award-winning RIBA Chartered Architects the Llama Group and their in-house Interior Design Practice, Janey Butler Interiors.
What began as a simple interior fit-out, soon grew into a full-scale renovation. Set in the rolling Cheshire countryside, the stunning lakeside home now features a large gymnasium, updated swimming pool with temperature-sensitive structural glazing and a sprawling internal garage; home to the owners prized luxury cars collection.
The main ground floor living area has been extended, with considerable structural changes to accommodate the new open-plan design. The focal point of the main ground floor became the new 16 metre, fully automated Sky-frame section, opening the entire living area to the dramatic backdrop of the gardens and lake.
The fully integrated AV and Lighting System has recently been shortlisted for a global home automation award; exquisite moving artwork conceals 84’’ televisions and the house can be controlled entirely with the touch of a button on a smartphone or tablet.
Finally, all new custom-made furniture arrived, shipped from suppliers around the world; large dining tables from Italy, bespoke lighting instillations from Holland and Milan.
