The transformation of a duplex apartment on the 7th and 8th floors of a 1970s Parisian building was undertaken to create a modern and elegant space inspired by minimalist architecture. The project included extending the 7th-floor terrace to enlarge the kitchen and create a dining area, constructing a small structure to directly connect the apartment to the rooftop terrace, as well as renovating the facades and enlarging the window openings.
All partition walls were demolished to expose the building's concrete structure and replaced with technical partitions covered in natural anodized aluminum. These partitions integrate various functions such as storage, a fold-down bed, air conditioning, and bathroom facilities, thus maximizing the available space. This system creates a clean and functional space while maintaining privacy when needed.
Japanese architecture also influenced the project's design. A system of raised platforms is used to define different areas of the apartment and facilitate circulation. The platforms also provide level access to the terraces, offering breathtaking views of Paris.
